So, we went to Remar orphanage this last saturday, I know I mentioned it lightly but we went there to bring them blankets our sites coordinator Amber raised 600 dollars for. These boys live north of us at really high altitude, so it gets really really cold at night, and not one of them has a single blanket on their bed. They have a sheet, and thats it. One of the boys actually ran away because it was so cold. Could you truly imagine sleeping every single night without one blanket? It's things like a blanket people take for granted, it's easy to see the big stuff such as not having parents, or a real family, money etc. but a blanket? It was truly amazing, and it meant so much to these kids. Amber is a wonderful woman and she's done a lot for the children in Ecuador and she will be greatly missed. I'm glad I had the opportunity to meet her because she's changed my life forever. love you, ambercita.
I had an amazing day there to say the least, I am so grateful for all my experiences here in Ecuador, coming to serve people all day everyday is coming to know our savior better. Service is so fun, and it makes me so happy. There is never a time after shift, or after going to visit an orphanage that I don't feel happy, satisfied, and craving more.
love all these little kids.
I love my osso girls. actually, love isn't even going to begin to cover it. They make me so happy! As if being with some of my most favorite babies everyday isn't enough I get to spend it with the most, happy, inspiring, beautiful, and selfless girls ever. Every single one has something to offer, and I feel so blessed to know them. They all have a different lesson they are teaching me without them even knowing. They are radiating, and their love is sincere. I love getting lost in our talks about our babies, boys, ecuador, and most importantly the gospel. Their testimonies are unbreakable, and I love when they share them with me. I feel blessed to even be in their presence. Life is sure going to be really hard when I leave them and I don't have the support of seeing them and talking to them everyday. love you forever, brianne, abby, paige, caitlin, ariel, kayla, macie, angela, trina, emily, beth ann, amber, and athena.
One more thing, I am SO eternally grateful for my friends, I had the opportunity to talk to a few of my best friends as they all sat around a table together and I sat here alone. Even though I cried like a little girl while I talked to each of them, they made my day. I realized how blessed I am to have them in my life. They are the bestest friends that I could have ever asked for. I miss you all, and can't wait to see you again soon. here's to you, amigos.

cassie i love you. i honestly don't know what i would have done without you this month. i love you more and i'm gonna miss you more than you'll know.
ReplyDeleteCassie! I love hearing about your expierence in Ecuador. Seeing the pictures and all of the cute kids with their hand signs and stuff, reminds me of "my" kids in Guate. You will NEVER forget the lessons you are learning there. You are so sweet & I'm so glad I was able to know you and hang out with you (even if was just for a bit).
ReplyDeletea month ago this wouldnt have made me cry. but ecuador has turned us all into emotional babies. so here i sit, weeping. thanks.
