Friday, we went to Mindo. We went Zip lining, rode this little cart thing above the trees, and then floated down this crazy river of straight rapids. Oh my heck, so much fun. My abs were killing me by the end of the day because I had literally laughed for about 9 hours straight. Such a good time. Zip lining kind of freaked me out a little, I mean I never hesitated to go across but you are so high up and going so fast! It was really beautiful. We also had the opportunity to zip line upside down, I seriously was giggling so hard I couldn't even contain myself. Such a splendid time indeed. When we went down the river, they tied about 8 huge black tubes together and we had two guides and the rest of us girls on it. I sat by Amber.. best & worst mistake. Best because she's awesome and hilarious, worst because we were feeding off of each others laughing so hard that I almost threw up. Needless to say, we would hit rocks, run into branches, almost fall off the tubes, and she kept pulling my hair to have something to hold onto which only made us laugh harder. Oh, good times in Ecuador.

Next on the Agenda, they made me Girls house site leader! So every saturday until I leave I get to spend it with the lovely girls. I am so so so so so so happy. The girls literally make my week, I love just going to their orphanage jump roping, making crafts, cuddling, playing rock paper scissors, and just loving one another. I feel like I fit right in, I'm just one of the little girls hanging out.

Okay, so this is the happiest news ever. BABY MICAELA IS OUT OF THE HOSPITAL. They released her this morning! So I get to stay the night with her tonight in the Orphanage and not in the hospital. Such a happy day, I'm so glad I got to spend one on one time with her in the Hospital. I just feel so much closer to her, even though she is only a few months old we have a strong connection. Yesterday I spent the morning with her and as I was snuggling her up to me, I felt a small glimpse of what a mother feels. The unconditional love, and concern was so strong. I'm so grateful to have experienced that, I'm sad she was so sick though. But, I know this experience was one I've needed.

Last but definitely not least, this just started my day off right. So this morning I was bringing the babies up to the playroom and I walked passed one of my faves Shirly (we're not supposed to have favorites, but it's inevitable.) Anyway, I walk by her and she's kind of whimpering and I just assumed she was just wanting someone to pick her up or something, so I kept walking and then her whimper turns into this super concerned cry, so I decided to turn around and when I did I saw her looking at her hand kind of panicking so as I start to walk back I get a closer and all I can see is something huge and black on her hand. oh. my. gosh. I run to her and IT'S A COCKROACH THE SIZE OF HER HAND. So I get the worst chills I ever have and at this point Shirly is crying and shaking her hand and it won't come off. I then grab her arm and try to shake it so it will fly off but this thing wasn't going anywhere. I then flicked it and it falls off and lands on its back and it's legs were going crazy. EW. I can deal with poop, vomit, blood, broken bones.. easy. bugs.. NOT. Shirly is so cute, but I felt so bad.

oh man. i love you. i love mindo. i love micaita. and i love it when you lay in my lap when we're on river rafts together :)
