what sunburn?

guys, I got the worst sunburn I've ever had. This morning Abby, Ariel, and I went outside on the patio to just lay in the sun and read. Let me remind you, I was wearing a teeshirt, and running shorts and after I got done reading I just put my headphones in and took a short little nap, woke up, and then went inside. The duration of my outside experience definitely did not extend over 40 minutes. To my pleasant surprise I had already got tan lines! I was way excited.... four hours later, while putting the babies to sleep someone came in and told me I was really burnt. I thought they were being dramatic until I went home and realized my face was fried, I have the redest triangle on my chest from my vneck, and my arms were beet red. WHAT? This is coming from the girl whose had maybe two sunburns in her life, I was blessed with skin that doesn't burn. The girl who spent a week on the california beach with not a drop of sunscreen. I guess the fact that I'm in South America and were at elevation 9200 feet could have something to do with it.  Welp, lesson learned kids. From here on forward me and sunscreen will become acquainted.
